Four men have been arrested in connection with a march by the English Defence League (EDL) in Hull.

Officers from a number of forces were brought in to help police Saturday's march through the city centre.

A 46-year-old man from Dronfield, Derbyshire, was arrested on suspicion of assault after a man suffered minor injuries in an attack on Ferensway.

Three others were arrested for offences including assault and using threatening words or behaviour.

Supt David Hall from Humberside Police said: "The EDL march passed off relatively peacefully with just a small number of arrests - all of those being people who had travelled to Hull from outside of the area especially to participate."
