A major blaze at a recycling plant in Hull sent a huge plume of smoke across the city.

Six crews were deployed to the fire, at Taylors Recycling Services on Century Road in Saltend, at 12:45 BST, where packed paper was alight.

Standby crews were sent as firefighters were taking part in strike action.

No-one was injured but people living nearby were told to keep doors and windows shut.

The nearby A1033 Hedon Road was also closed both ways due to smoke blowing across the road.
