One person has been taken to hospital with serious injuries and five others were rescued from a burning building in Hull.

Emergency services were called to Spring Bank just after 08:15 GMT.

Three staff members were rescued from Jack's News and two people from the flat above. One other person jumped and suffered arm injuries.

Humberside Police have arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of arson and he is in custody.

Supt Richard Kivern told BBC Look North there had been two other incidents at the shop in the last five weeks. One was an arson attack, one an attempted burglary.

He said they are treating the incidents extremely seriously.
