Hornsea woman, 88, killed in Atwick crash named

An 88-year-old woman killed in a car crash in East Yorkshire has been identified by police as Joan Gale.

Mrs Gale, from Hornsea, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on the B1242 between Atwick and Skipsea.

She was a front seat passenger in a Peugeot 106 which collided with a Vauxhall Astra.

The driver of the Peugeot, also 88, was seriously hurt and taken to hospital in Hull. Two passengers in the Astra suffered minor injuries.
