A full police funeral has been held at a crematorium near Hull for an officer killed in a crash while on patrol.

PC Russ Wylie, 28, was in a collision with a car on 13 April, on the B1362 Daisy Hill Road, in Burstwick, East Yorkshire.

He died the next day in hospital. PC Wylie, a roads policing officer, worked at Humberside Police's base in Melton.

His colleagues tweeted that donations in his memory to Yorkshire Air Ambulance have "topped £10,000".

In a previous statement, his family thanked the Yorkshire Air Ambulance staff for their efforts on the day of the crash and said donations should be sent to the charity.

The funeral cortege started from Tetney, near Grimsby and paused at Grimsby Police Station to allow officers and staff to pay their respects.
