Firefighters have been damping down at an industrial estate in East Yorkshire after a large blaze at an aerosol manufacturer.

The fire broke out at LMA Chemicals Limited, in Pocklington, shortly before 17:00 BST on Thursday, with 50 firefighters on-site at its height.

It is thought a chemical explosion caused the fire. No-one was injured.

Humberside Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze was brought under control overnight.

The Environment Agency said it had officers inspecting the site, but there were currently no serious environmental implications.

John Galley, who works nearby, said: "The flames at its height it were easily 50 feet in the air with a very significant pall of black smoke reaching way into the sky."

The fire service said an investigation into the exact cause of the fire had started.
