A woman has died after a driver "lost control" and crashed at a roundabout in Scunthorpe, police said.

The woman, 33, was a front-seat passenger in a Hyundai car when it hit bollards and an electricity box on the Ashby Ville roundabout at 01:40 BST.

Police said the car, which had been travelling along Brigg Road towards the roundabout, was being driven by a 23-year-old man.

He has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and is being questioned.

Officers have appealed for witnesses.
