Man with 'crucial information' sought after Kent attack

Police are trying to trace a man who spoke to a teenage girl shortly after she was sexually assaulted.

Kent Police said a 16-year-old girl was attacked in undergrowth off Sea Road, Westgate, Kent, after she had been at a party in the village.

Following the incident on 9 July, the victim spoke to a young man at a bus stop near the tennis courts who police would like to speak to.

The force said he may have "crucial information" about the attack.

An 18-year-old man from Westgate has been arrested over the assault and is currently on police bail.

Det Sgt Mark Dennis said: "It is important for us to find this young man as he may have crucial information that could help us.

"I'd like to stress he has done nothing wrong. We are just keen to speak with him as part of the investigation."
