Arrests over Tunbridge Wells cash machine alert

Two men have been arrested and bailed after a card retaining device was found near a cash machine in Tunbridge Wells.

Kent Police said officers were notified about suspicious activity near the Nationwide cash machine in Calverley Road on Friday.

Two men, aged 32 and 33, from London and Surrey, were arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.

A police spokesman said the card retaining device was found by the officers nearby.

People using a cash machine have been urged always to check there is nothing "untoward" with it.

Police advised people to check around the insert slot in particular, to make sure a false front has not been stuck on to the machine.

Anyone in any doubt about a cash machine should not use it.
