Plan to axe 25% of senior posts at Thanet Council
Up to a quarter of senior management posts at a local authority are to be axed as part of cost-cutting measures.
Thanet District Council said it anticipated having to make savings of £3.4m next year following cuts announced in the Spending Review.
The council said it planned to save up to £1m a year by reducing staff numbers.
Council leader Bob Bayford said the local authority would seek to protect frontline workers.
He said: "Although we don't have the full details of the settlement from the government yet, we already know that over the next four years, we're going to be managing with the equivalent of just three year's money.
"We have to make changes now and, considering that half of our costs go on the council's wage bills, we need to look at our current structures and ways of making those leaner."
A consultation process is under way into the proposed changes.
