Teenager arrested after boy injured in Kent dog attack

A teenager has been arrested in connection with a dog attack in Kent in which a boy suffered a leg injury.

Liam Monks, 13, was bitten by a dog at the Garrison Sports Ground, in Gillingham, on 29 December 2010.

Kent Police said the 15-year-old boy from Gillingham had been arrested on suspicion of failing to control a dog in a public place.

They also seized a dog as part of the investigation and urged any witnesses to the attack to contact them.

Liam had been playing football with friends when he was attacked by the dog at about 1540 GMT.

The teenager needed plastic surgery at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, West Sussex.
