Work to replace ageing water pipe in Tunbridge Wells

Work is set to begin to replace an ageing water main that serves Tunbridge Wells town centre.

South East Water said the 50-year-old water main in Lonsdale Gardens had burst 11 times in recent years, causing major disruption to businesses.

David Brend, the firm's delivery manager, said it had come to the end of its working life.

The £35,000 project starts on 15 January and work will be carried out every weekend until 6 February.
