Murder hunt after man attacked in Sittingbourne dies

A murder investigation is under way after a man assaulted in Kent nearly two weeks ago died in hospital.

Adrian Milner, 48, died in a London hospital on Sunday from head injuries received on 28 December in the attack in the Murston area of Sittingbourne.

Mr Milner was walking with a friend near the Co-op in Church Road just before 1953 GMT when he was attacked.

There was a row with a third man, who punched Mr Milner in the face, causing him to fall to the ground.

'Real concern'

Father of two Mr Milner was a lorry driver who lived in Murston.

Kent Police will be at the scene of the attack on Tuesday evening exactly two weeks after it took place.

"We will hopefully be able to talk to people who were out and about two weeks ago and may have seen either the assault or events leading up to it," said Det Insp Lee Whitehead.

"People in Murston have shown real concern for what happened.

"Thanks to their help we are gaining a much clearer picture of what happened that evening, but we are still missing information that will give us the full picture."

Two men aged 30 and 35 from Sittingbourne arrested in connection with the investigation have been bailed until 28 January.
