Fire crews tackle blaze at Sandwich shuttlecock factory

A fire has destroyed part of a shuttlecock factory in Kent.

Fire crews were called to Archers Low Farm, in Sandown Road, Sandwich, just before 2000 GMT on Thursday.

At its height, more than 40 firefighters from Sandwich, Eastry and Ramsgate tackled the flames, which took nearly four hours to extinguish.

The cause of the fire at the single-storey building is not yet known, but the Kent Fire and Rescue Service said an investigation was under way.
