A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a dog attack in Kent in which a boy suffered a leg injury.

Liam Monks, 13, was bitten by a dog at the Garrison Sports Ground in Gillingham on 29 December.

Kent Police said a Gillingham man had been arrested on suspicion of failing to control a dog in a public place and bailed.

It is the second arrest following the incident. Last month, officers arrested and bailed a 15-year-old boy.

Liam had been playing football with friends when he was attacked by the dog at about 1540 GMT.

The teenager needed plastic surgery at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, West Sussex.

Officers have urged any witnesses to the attack to contact them.
