Three held over phone cable theft in Kent

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of stealing phone cable worth an estimated £15,000 on the Isle of Sheppey.

Kent Police said thieves removed manhole covers and took more than 500m (1640ft) of underground cable from Ferry Road in Minster.

Officers discovered the phone cable hidden in a van.

The arrested men, aged 22, 32 and 42, have been bailed until 31 March pending further inquiries.
