Concern over approaches to two young children in Thanet

Police in Kent are investigating two incidents where a man has approached young children.

On Saturday, a man is reported to have invited a five-year-old girl to sit in his car in Chichester Road, Ramsgate. She said no and alerted her mother.

Then on Wednesday, a man opened a garden gate and spoke to a three-year-old boy in Millmead Road, Margate.

Officers have described the incidents as concerning and have not ruled out the possibility they are linked.

Det Sgt John Cooper said: "Our advice to parents and guardians is to remain vigilant and ensure your children are supervised and well versed in the potential risks associated with talking to strangers."
