Tonbridge Memorial Garden appeal under way

A charitable trust wants to raise more than £250,000 to refurbish a memorial garden in a Kent town.

The Tonbridge Memorial Garden Trust has unveiled plans to improve the garden, which is the site of Remembrance Sunday services.

Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council said it was an "important public space of quiet and contemplation in the heart of the town."

The trust said it hoped to complete the work by the autumn of 2012.

The trust brings together the council, the Royal British Legion, Tonbridge Historical Society and Tonbridge Civic Society.
