Man out of coma after Margate fight

A 21-year-old man who suffered serious injuries in an attack in Margate more than two weeks ago has regained consciousness.

Kent Police said the man was found unconscious with fractures to his skull after a fight in Hawley Street, where he was punched and kicked.

He was taken to hospital where he remained in a coma for more than a fortnight after the attack on 10 April.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw the attack in the early hours.

Appealing for information, Det Con Benjamin Loose said: "A young man remains in hospital and those responsible for inflicting such serious injuries on him need to be identified and arrested."

He said the fight took place between midnight and 0030 BST.
