Coach drivers guilty of importing drugs through Dover

Two coach drivers have been found guilty of importing class A drugs through the Port of Dover.

Alban Velaj, 32, and Gjevdet Gashi, 35, from Albania, each received 12-year sentences at Canterbury Crown Court.

The UK Border Agency said its officers had searched a British registered coach and found six packages of cocaine in the air conditioning unit in the roof.

According to the agency, they contained 6kg of class A drugs with a street value of £480,000.
