Ashford fire crews tackle wood storage yard blaze

Sixty firefighters have tackled a fire at a wood storage yard in Kent and brought the blaze under control.

Crews were called to the yard in Woodchurch, Ashford, just after 2300 BST on Saturday, where between 200 and 300 tonnes of wood were alight.

Fire teams worked to prevent the fire spreading to other buildings and a diesel storage tank, Kent Fire and Rescue Service said.

No-one was injured in the incident at the yard, in Bethersden Road.
