Detectives have issued CCTV images in a bid to find out what happened to a 43-year-old man who suffered head injuries in Rochester.

The man was injured in the High Street on 29 May and was taken to Medway hospital, but then moved to a London hospital after his condition worsened.

Two men, 31 and 33, have been arrested on suspicion of assault and bailed.

Det Sgt Adam Marshall said CCTV showed at least three other people could have seen what happened.

He said officers wanted to trace a woman who was riding a bicycle in the area at the time, a man who was walking in the High Street towards Rochester Bridge and the driver of a white Hackney taxi.

"Although we are keeping an open mind in regards to what happened during this incident, we are keen to follow up all possible lines of inquiry," Det Sgt Marshall said.

"We believe that all three of these individuals may have seen this incident and are eager to talk to them."

He said the injured man, who was from Gillingham, was still in hospital where his condition was described as stable.
