A blaze at a disused pub in Ramsgate has destroyed 80% of the building

The blaze in the first floor and roof of the Southwood Tavern in Southwood Road was reported at 0550 BST.

At the height of the fire, four pumps from Thanet, Margate and two from Ramsgate were at the scene, along with a support vehicle from Dover.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service left the scene at 0815 BST after damping down, and said that the cause of the fire was being investigated.
