Men arrested in Kent over metal and cable thefts
Several people have been arrested by police investigating a spate of metal and cable thefts in Kent.
It follows a four-week operation in which officers checked scrap metal dealers and those connected with transporting metal regularly.
A teenage boy and a 19-year-old man were charged in connection with metal thefts in the Hawkhurst area.
One man was also arrested and bailed over the theft of telephone cable valued at £2,000 found in Wouldham.
Officers said another man had also been questioned and bailed over the theft of cable from the Farningham area, while two other men had been cautioned in connection with metal thefts in the Sundridge area and Goudhurst.
