£19m drugs haul seized at Dover Port

Drugs with a street value of more than £19m have been seized in two separate smuggling attempts at a Kent port.

Six tonnes of cannabis resin with an estimated street value of £17.9m was found hidden in a Spanish-registered lorry at Dover Port on Wednesday.

On Thursday, about 0.28 tonnes of cocaine with an estimated street value of £1.2m was discovered concealed in a British-registered car at the port.

A Spanish lorry driver and a British man, 45, were arrested and bailed.
