East Kent hospitals use new system to cut A&E waiting

A new patient booking system is to cut waiting times at accident and emergency departments at east Kent hospitals.

The changes will affect patients with minor injuries at Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital, William Harvey Hospital and the Kent and Canterbury.

From Monday, patients will not have to wait to see a triage nurse before a further delay for treatment.

Instead, they will immediately be sent to the right area for help when they book in at reception.

The East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust hopes the change will mean patients can get the right treatment more quickly.
