Probe into sex attack on man in Canterbury

Police are investigating reports of a serious sexual assault on a 23-year-old man in Canterbury.

The attack happened in woodland in the Northgate area of the city between 1500 and 1700 BST on Tuesday, Kent Police said.

The suspect is described as 6ft tall, white, in his early 30s, with short dark hair.

Officers believe the attacker was known to the victim and had a Liverpudlian accent.

The land, adjoining Forrester Close and Brymore Road, is used by dog walkers.

A police spokesman said: "This is not being treated as a stranger rape and there haven't been any similar incidents reported to police in the area."
