Kent Police warn over distraction thefts

Two women may be behind up to 15 recent distraction thefts at shops across west Kent, police have said.

The incidents have occurred in Tunbridge Wells, Westerham, Sevenoaks, Larkfield, Swanley and Edenbridge.

Kent Police said the suspects distracted their victims by engaging them in conversation or by asking to swap money from the till.

They have then stolen money, goods and mobile phones. Det Con Matthew Hulbert urged shopkeepers to be vigilant.
