Motorcyclist killed in Rochester crash

A 25-year-old man was killed when the motorbike he was riding collided with a car in the Medway towns area of Kent.

Kent Police said the biker suffered fatal injuries in the crash involving a Suzuki GSXR and a Vauxhall Tigra in Laker Road, Rochester, at about 12:15 BST on Thursday.

Emergency services carried out first aid but the local man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The force has appealed for witness to contact officers.

Pc Guy Miller said: "Initial indications suggest that a black motorcycle, travelling along Laker Road towards Blue Bell Hill, collided with a silver car travelling in the same direction, at the junction with Lankester Parker Road.

"Unfortunately, the motorcyclist, a local man, died at the scene. We would like to speak with anyone that may have seen the collision, or events leading up to the incident, as they could help us with our enquiries.

"We would also like to take this opportunity to thank residents and workers for their patience after we closed the surrounding roads to allow us to carry out forensic investigations."
