Kent council starts motorcycle safety campaign

A safety campaign has been launched by Kent council after 376 people on motorcycles were killed or injured in the county in the last three years.

The council said motorcyclists accounted for 1% of traffic in Kent, but made up 25% of fatal casualties.

A website has been launched with tips and advice for bikers as well has providing details of popular routes.

Councillor Bryan Sweetland said it provided "a platform for motorcyclists to share advice and experience".

He added: "With this campaign we want to talk with bikers about what it is that places them at risk."
