Woman found in Chatham flat died from compressed neck

A 32-year-old woman whose body was found in a Kent flat died from neck injuries, police have revealed.

Jennie Banner was found dead at a property in New Road, Chatham, at about 09:45 BST on 19 August.

Kent Police said on Thursday that the post-mortem examination result gave the cause of her death as compression of the neck.

Marcus Coates, 43, of Ernest Way, Chatham, Kent, has been charged with her murder.

He appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday and was remanded in custody to until 4 November when he is expected to enter a plea.
