Lydd barn fire causes road disruption in Kent

Fire crews have been tackling a large blaze that has broken out in a barn at a Kent farm.

About 40 firefighters from Kent Fire and Rescue Service were sent to the scene of the fire in Romney Road, Lydd, at 15:00 BST.

Concern about gas cylinders stored in the building has led to the closure of the High Street between Dennes Lane and Lydd Road.

Kent Police have advised motorists to avoid the area.

A force spokesman said parts of Romney Road, Station Road and the access road into Lydd Airport have also been closed.
