Warning over reservoir swimming in Farnham

Young people are putting their lives at risk by swimming in reservoirs in Surrey, police have warned.

Surrey Police said there had been several reported incidents of people swimming in open water in Farnham.

PC Jim Lavery said: "These areas of water are not designed for public swimming. Some are very deep, some are far too shallow.

"They may well contain sharp rocks or old industrial equipment and there is nobody on hand to supervise."
