Pedestrian killed in road crash in Dover is named

A pedestrian who was killed when he was struck by a lorry on the A20 in south Kent has been identified by police.

David Bell, 49, from Lower Road, River, near Dover, suffered fatal injuries in the crash in the Samphire Hoe area of Dover on Friday.

In a statement, his family said: "David was a loving father who will be sadly missed by his loving family."

The A20, at the Courtwood interchange, was shut for about five hours after the incident.

Kent Police have appealed for anyone with information about the crash to contact officers.
