Dartford road crash leaves girl, six, 'critical'

A six-year-old girl has been left in a critical condition in hospital and five other people injured following a crash involving two cars in north Kent.

Kent Police said the youngster suffered life-threatening injuries when a VW Passat and a VW Golf collided in Watling Street, Dartford, on Monday.

She was initially treated at a local hospital before being transferred to a facility in London.

Officers said the five other people suffered minor injuries.

Kent Police said they believed a third vehicle crashed into the side of the road during the incident at 15.45 BST.

Pc Mick Sayer said: "We are keen to establish the circumstances of this collision and would like to speak with anyone that may have seen the incident or events leading up to the collision as they could help with our investigations.

"Initial reports suggest that two vehicles were in direct collision, with the third vehicle colliding with the side of the road."

The road was closed for about seven hours following the crash.
