Teenager charged over Rainham police car collision

A teenager has been charged after a police officer was injured when his patrol car was involved in a crash with another vehicle in Kent.

The 19-year-old man from Chatham appeared before magistrates accused of aggravated vehicle-taking.

The collision happened in Deanwood Drive, Rainham, at about 01:15 BST on Monday.

Kent Police said the officer had been pursuing a suspect following reports of a vehicle being stolen.
