Investigations are under way into the cause of a fire that severely damaged a sports pavilion in Kent.

About 30 firefighters were called to Deal Town FC's Charles Sports Ground in St Leonard's Road, Deal, at about 17:15 BST on Thursday.

Acting Det Sgt Darren Manktelow, of Kent Police, said the cause was unexplained but arson had not been ruled out.

The building was empty at the time and no-one was injured in the blaze.
