Isle of Sheppey crash: Bike boy hit by car

An 11-year-old boy is critically ill in hospital after being struck by a car while riding his bike on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent.

The boy is being treated at a London hospital where his condition is described as critical but stable.

Kent Police said the collision happened outside Sheppey Rugby Club in Minster at 16:45 BST on Saturday.

The car driver, a 56-year-old man from Yorkshire, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and released on bail.
