Man rescued from derelict Ramsgate house fire

A man had to be rescued from a large derelict house in Ramsgate after it caught fire.

About 30 firefighters were called to the two-storey property in Belmont Road, at about 03:15 GMT.

The rescued man was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation and the Red Cross also assisted residents from neighbouring properties.

During the fire the roof of the house collapsed and the building is now being demolished.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
