Kent builder charged over £1m tax fraud

A Kent builder has been charged with VAT fraud offences valued at £1m, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has said.

Wayne Morris Harrison, 52, of Fitzroy Avenue, Broadstairs, is charged with two counts of cheating the public revenue of Value Added Tax.

HMRC spokesman Bob Gaiger said Mr Harrison was charged at Margate Police Station on Wednesday, following an investigation.

He is due to appear before magistrates in Margate on 9 December.
