Arrests after £50m worth of cocaine seized in Rochester

Three men have been arrested after cocaine with an estimated street value of £50m was seized by police in Kent.

The three suspects, aged 40, 44 and 45 were detained in Rochester after 150kg of the drug were discovered on Monday.

Metropolitan Police officers had been carrying out an investigation into organised crime networks involved in the supply of class A drugs.

All three suspects are being held on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

Det Insp Colin Stephenson said: "This arrest and seizure has disrupted a significant supply of cocaine into London and will reinforce the message that the Met will continue to combat the criminal networks engaged in drug trafficking and prevent a large amount of cocaine flooding the streets this Christmas."
