Kent trading standards seize thousands of illegal toys
More than 9,000 potentially dangerous toys found in two lorries at the Port of Dover have been seized by Kent Trading Standards.
The items from China include some cuddly toys stuffed with rags.
The consignment also includes electrical toys that would be dangerous if plugged in.
Mark Rolfe, from trading standards, believes the items were destined for warehouses which sell goods to small shops and street market stalls.
Kent Trading Standards said it was the biggest seizure of dangerous toys in the county in five years.
