Knifepoint raid at Ramsgate amusement arcade

Two men stole cash during a knifepoint raid at an amusement arcade in Ramsgate.

Kent Police said staff and customers had been threatened with the weapons during the incident in Queen Street, at about 20:30 GMT on Wednesday.

The robbers forced staff to open the arcade safe and then fled the scene with a large number of notes and coins.

Detectives said one man suffered minor injuries. They have appealed for people with information to contact them.

'Left shaken'

Det Sgt Neil Watford said: "The two men were carrying knives and were very threatening in their manner towards both members of staff and a couple of customers who were in the arcade at the time.

"One male member of staff was taken to hospital with minor injuries and everyone involved was left shaken by the incident."

The first suspect was described as white, 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in tall and of a slim build.

He was wearing a dark hooded tracksuit top with grey markings on the shoulders and arms, blue jeans, white trainers and grey gloves.

The second man was said to be black, 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in tall and of a slim build.

He was wearing a black Adidas top with white stripes running down each arm, blue jogging bottoms and trainers.
