Ramsgate cyclist dies in hospital after hit-and-run

A cyclist from Kent who was knocked off his bike by a car which failed to stop has died in hospital.

David Chamberlain, 66, from Broadstairs, was cycling along Dumpton Park Drive, in Ramsgate, between 12:35 GMT and 12:45 GMT on 15 November when he was in a collision with a large black car.

He was taken to hospital with serious head injuries but died on Boxing Day.

Kent Police has renewed its appeal for witnesses to the hit-and-run.

The car which failed to stop was seen accelerating up Montefiore Avenue in the direction of Hereson Road.

A 62-year-old Ramsgate man has been arrested in connection with the collision, but has been bailed.
