Man arrested after Kent police officer hit by car

A 30-year-old man has been arrested after a police officer was hit by a car and left unconscious in Kent.

The officer went to speak to the driver of a car in Springfield Road, Southborough near Tunbridge Wells, on 9 December.

The officer stood in front of the car, which was then driven forward and the officer ended up on the bonnet.

He was found lying on the road about 300m away, bruised but otherwise not seriously injured.

The man was arrested in Brighton Road, Coulsdon, and a 30-year-old woman was also detained on suspicion of harbouring a wanted criminal.
