Medway Council recommends for council tax to be frozen

Council tax in Medway is likely to be frozen for the second year running.

Medway Council said it would be able to achieve the freeze despite a cut in government funding.

Cabinet members for the unitary authority, which covers Rochester, Chatham and Gillingham, will vote on the recommendations on Tuesday.

The charge for an average Band 'D' property will remain at £1,119.15 a year - around £130 less than anywhere else in the county, the authority said.
