Driver arrested after man dies in Broadstairs crash

The 18-year-old driver of a car which crashed in east Kent killing one of his passengers has been questioned by police on suspicion of drink-driving.

A 19-year-old man died after the Vauxhall Astra hit a wall in Stone Road, Broadstairs, early on Saturday.

Two girls, both aged 17, who were also passengers, are in a serious but stable condition in hospital. Another male passenger suffered minor injuries.

The driver, from Margate, who was not injured, has been released on bail.

Anyone who saw the black car being driven in the Broadstairs area between 03:30 and 04:00 GMT is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
