Package at Folkestone police station sparks alert

A Kent police station was cordoned off following a security alert when a suspicious package was brought to the front counter.

Emergency services were called to Folkestone police station, in Bouverie Road West, at about 10:00 GMT.

A spokeswoman for the force said the incident had been resolved and emergency services were now leaving the area.

She said the cordon was lifted at about 13:30 GMT.
