Kent Police: Woman quizzed over Folkestone abandoned girl

A woman is being questioned by Kent Police after a toddler was found abandoned in her pushchair at a library in Folkestone.

She was arrested in Ashford at 22.50 GMT on Wednesday on suspicion of child neglect, a police spokeswoman said.

Officers had appealed to find the mother of the girl after she was found by staff at the library in Grace Hill.

She was discovered as the building was closing for the day at 18:00 GMT, and put into the care of social services.
