Woman accused of abandoning girl at Folkestone library

A woman has been charged with neglecting a toddler who was found in her pushchair at a Kent library.

The girl was discovered at the library in Grace Hill, Folkestone, as the building was closing for the day at 18:00 GMT on Wednesday.

The 37-year-old woman, from Hythe, was arrested in Ashford later that night. Kent Police said she was due to appear before magistrates on 14 March.

The child was put into the care of social services after she was found.
